AFFIDAVIT OF DAVID N. KEAST CORRECTING ORAL TESTIMONY ON EDDLEMAN 57-C-3 County of Middlesex )

) ss.

Commonwealth of Massachusetts )

David N. Keast, being duly sworn, deposes and says:

1. On November 4 and 5, 1985, I testified regarding Eddleman Contention 57-C-3 before the Atomic Safety and Licensing Board in the above-captioned proceeding. My recent review of FEMA's December 6, 1985 response to the Licensing Board's November 19, 1985 memorandum to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (trans-mitted as Enclosure 2 to the December 11, 1985 Memorandum to the Commission from William J. Dircks, re Nighttime Emergency Notification) has disclosed an error in one of my calculations.
2. During Board examination on the morning of November 5, I was asked to determine the probability of awakening for 60 dB.

(Tr. 9649). My response to the question (Tr. 9650) was in error. The correct response is that with 60 dB outdoors, win-dows closed and central air conditioning on, the probability of awakening a person is 10%. With windows open, the probability is 27%.

3. The error was a result of my miscalculation on the witness stand. The correct calculation, illustrated by reference to the testimony at Tr. 9563-64, is as follows:
