Dear Dr. Grace:
In reviewing the schedule of those high priority modifications required to be~ completed prior to fuel loading, we have determined that the corrective action for this deficiency does not warrant completion by fuel load as stated in our response of October 24, 1985.
In our response the final radiation analysis showed no adverse effect of the penetration streaming post-LOCA on safety-related equipment.
Imple-mentation of the corrective action will, however, reduce radiation levels during normal and post-accident operations.
-We'have initiated the Nuclear Station Modification (NSM) for this project.
-and will complete it as time and materials permit.
In the interim, administrative controls are being implemented to control personnel-access in the penetration area during incore instrument movement until these
- shielding modifications are complete.
