Docket No. 50-285 District Response Dated July 6, 1979 2.

Dear Mr. Seyfrit:

Tne Onaha Public Power District received a request for clarification of our initial respanae to IE Bulletin 79-02 Revision 1 on July 27, 1979

':'hese clarifications are as follows:

Reference:

Page k, paragraph two of the District's response to Item 2 of IE Bulletin 79-02.

Clarification:

The District has evaluated the analysis and determined that no concrete expansion anchors have a design load greater than or equal to the anchor's ultirate tensile load divided by 2.

(All anchors have a factor of safety Greater than two based on the ultimate tensile load).

At the present time, the analysis for one support has not been completed.

This support is difficult to model and vill take approximately one addi-tional week to complete the analysis.

Carificatien:

Tr.a fieli testing completed to date on the large diameter piping.

inii:stes tha; the restraint baseplate anchors were installed correctly.

Tne restraint baseplate anchors for the small pipin'g (2'" and 4

'Isr in diameter) were designed and installed under the same procedures s

and by the same co:: tractor as those for the large piping.

Therefore, it is concluded that the concrete anchors on the small piping were c:rrectly installed.

A field verification program consisting of a visual inspect, ion of s=all diameter seismic Category I~ piping vill be performed during the next refueling outage presently ~ scheduled for January, 1980.

Sincerely, t
