A. Af ter discussion with the managers of the site GELi detectors on May 29, 1979, and af ter discussions with t he Radiation Protection and Chemistry supervisors, the following criteria are rec'ommended for sample retention:

1. Retain ,all samples for one week f rom time of analysis in order to insure adequate time for data review and evaluation, and re-counting ,

if necessary.

2. Because of the importance, retain all HPR samples for one month, and then discard if a Beta-Gamma survey indicates less than three times background on either side of the charcoal.

It is most important that the early samples be composited so that we can perform the necessary strontium and gross Alpha analysis. This compositing will greatly reduce the volume.

C. It is recommended that the samples be stored according to the eleven required categories listed in CAP A above, and that all the charcoals be stored together except for the HPR charcoals which should be stored separately.
