Gentlemen:
This refers to the inspection conducted by Mr. H. D. Chaney of this of fice
during the period October 2-3, 1985, of activities authorized by NRC Operating
License NPF-40 for River Bend Station, and to the discussion of our findings
with Mr. J. Deddens and other members of your staff at the conclusion of the

inspection.

Areas examined during the inspection included licensee actions to resolve
certain Operating License (NPF-40, Attachment 1) precriticality conditions and
discussions on actions to resolve previously identified preoperational inspec-
tion findings.
Within these areas, the inspection consisted of selective
examination of procedures and representative records, interviews with personnel,
and observations by the inspectors.
These findings are documented in the
enclosed inspection report.
