. Notice of non-Routine Event in an Agreement State No. 79-11 was issued fs May 15, 1979.
The notice reports an industrial rggiography incident on-5:
an oil rig off-shore in the Gulf of Mexico, Prelippinary evaluations indicate EE two radiographers each received 2 Rem whole body doses.

Unit 2 is under construction; Unit 1 is shut down for refueling and maintenance.

tank water level was maintained by discharging to the Unit 2 tendon access gallery. The tendon access gallery discharges to two onsite

Analysis of discharges to the first pond indicate E
Cobalt-60 levels slightly above minimum detectable. - It is estimated j'E that 1800 gallons of water has been drained from the sinks.
Use of the
=E Unit 1 sinks has been discontinued.
There have.been no personnel 5
.overexposures and no release from the site.

Auxiliary Building have been evacuated until decontamin' tion of the a

affected areas is complete. The licensee is continuing to evaluate L

The State of Illinois Senate passed a bill on 5/14/79 which would

prohibit shipment of spent fuel into Illinois for storage.
Storage
==_5 of spent fuel generated in Illinois would still be pennitted.
The 2T.1 Illinois House has not acted on the proposal.

An NRC inspector was advised that a local merchant near the ANO-1
[Y site has sent a letter to the President of the United States with M
M-copies to certain Congressman.
Information is that the letter refelets on the adequacy of the site security program.
An attempt to obtain a copy of the, letter is being pursued.
