Subject:

Final 10CFR50.55(e) Report; Cold Pulling of Pipe, Corrective Action Completed (GDR 82-00-13)

Dear Sir:

We committed in Reference (c) to determine which piping may have been omitted f rom our final 10CFR50.55(e) Report on Cold Pulling of Pipe.

Our review of this item has been completed as follows:

1. All ASHE Class I piping has been reviewed and only the pressurizer surge line was found to have been inadver-tently omitted from Reference (b). In Reference (c) we reported that the pressurizer surge line had not sub-jected to cold pulling in excess of 1-1/4" (the limits of the Deerman clamp). During the Class 1 As-Built Reconciliation Program, the effect of the use of the Deerman clamp will be analyzed for the pressurizer surge line.
2. Under our previous review, 70 ASME Classes 2 and 3 sub-systems were reviewed for the potential of cold pull.

This sample represents approximately 33% of all ASME pip-ing installed as of January 1, 1983 and a substantially larger percentage of closed out subsystems.

<. Attention: Mr. Richard W. Starostecki Page 2 .

1 Because of the significant percentage of subsystems sampled .without observing any detrimental effects, we have concluded that further review of this issue is'not' warranted.

This is our final report on this item.

Very truly yours, I

A. /
