Gentlemen:
This refers to the inspection conducted by Messrs. H. D. Chaney and
D. B. Spitzberg of this office during the period August 5-9, 1985, of
activities authorized by NRC Construction Permit CPPR-145 for the River Bend
Station, and to the discussion of our findings with Mr. J. Deddens and other
members of your staff at the conclusion of the inspection.

Areas examined during the inspection included the status of outstanding open
items involving the radiation protection program, TMI action items, chemistry
sampling stations, radioactive waste systems, and the environmental monitoring
program. Within these areas, the inspection consisted of selective examination
of procedures and representative records, interviews with personnel, and

observations by the inspectors. These findings are documented in the enclosed
i

inspection report.

identified.
