Enclosed is a copy of the final exercise report for the August 14, 1996, full-participation plume l exposure pathway exercise of the offsite radiological emergency response plans site-specific to the l Haddam Neck Nuclear Power Station. The State of Connecticut and the towns of Chester, l Colchester, Deep River, Durham, East Haddam, East Hampton, Essex, Haddam, Killingworth, Lyme, hiadison, hiarlborough, hiiddletown, Ponland, and Salem fully panicipated in this exercise. The final exercise report was prepared by the Federal Emergency hianagement Agency (FEhiA) Region I staff.

Copies of this report will be provided to the State of Connecticut.

There were no Deficiencies and 17 Areas Requiring Corrective Action identified during the August 14, 1996, exercise. FEhfA Region I stafTwill monitor the status of corrective actions.

Based on the results of the August 14, 1996, exercise, the offsite radiciogical emergency response plans and preparedness for the State of Connecticut and the affected localjurisdictions, site-specific to the Haddam Neck Nuclear Power Station, can be implemented and are adequate to provide reasonable assurance that appropriate measures can be taken offsite to protect the health and safety of the public in the event of a radiological emergency at the site. Therefore, Title 44 CFR, Part 350, approval of the preparedness measures for the State of Connecticut and the localjurisdictions, specific to the Haddam Neck Nuclear Power Station, granted on October 9,1984, will remain in effect, if you should have any questions, please contact Daniel McElhinney, FEMA Region I Regional Assistance Committee Chairperson, at (617) 223-9567.
