Dear Mr. Sharkey:
This acknowledges receipt of your letter of December 20, 1996, transmitting a copy of the first quarterly status report of Combustion Engineering's (CE)
Criticality Safety Program Update (CSPU).
CE's CSPU plan was submitted on September 20, 1996, and is designed to formalize and strengthen CE's nuclear criticality safety program at the Hematite, Missouri site.
In that plan, you committed to submit a progress report of the implementation of the CSPU on a quarterly basis.
We are pleased to know from your December letter that the progress on the CSPV is essentially on schedule.
Your cooperation in keeping us informed of the progress of the CSPU is appreciated.
