Dear Mr. Zugger:
RE: Donald C. Cook Nuclear Plant NPDES Permit No. 0005827 Steam Generator Blowdown Anticipating a return to service after a five month refueling outage, a monthly grab sample taken July 31, 1985 while the Number 11 Steam Gen-erator was being drained for hydrotesting, was analyzed August 2.
The iron concentration was 6.0 PPM.
On August 7,1985, a Unit 1 Steam Generator Blowdown Flash Tank sample was taken as Number 12 Steam Generator was being drained for hydrotesting.
The iron concentration was 5.3 PPM.
A renewal NPDES Permit, now on Public Notice, no longer includes this monitoring requirement for iron since EPA guidelines now classify Steam Generation blowdown as a low volume waste.
Very truly yours, WA~ 1) {
