Dear Mr. Zugger:
RE:
D. C. Cook Nuclear Plant NPDES Permit No. MI 005827 Heating Boiler Blowdown A blowdown sample taken August 1,1985 f rom the heating boiler which was placed in use on July 16, 1985 af ter a considerable period of inactivity, was found to contain an iron concentration of 7.8 PPM and a copper con-centration of 2.1 PPM.
Since chemical treatment of this boiler is made by batch addition, we believe the iron and copper levels in the blowdown are due to chemical shock.
Very truly yours,
/

Dear Mr. Zugger:
RE: Donald C. Cook Nuclear Plant NPDES Permit No. MI 0005827 Boiler Blowdown Copper Limit Our letter of July 22, 1985 reported an iron concentration of 9 PPM in the blowdown sample from the heating boiler started on July 16, 1985. That letter should have also reported a copper concentration of 8 PPM in the same sample.
The copper level is also believed the result from the infrequent use of the boiler.
Very truly yours.
