LICENSING ACTIONS ASSIGNED TO REGION III FOR THE BYRON FACILITIES In your memo of July 26, 1985 you requested Region III assistance in ,

conducting a safety evaluation of two actions yet to be submitted for the ,

Byron Station. We have-reviewed the request and will accept TAC No. 57077, Relocation of Control for NIS, when it is submitted; however, we decline TAC No. 57076, Iodine / Particulate Sampling. Although this issue was identified by Region III, it.is an extremely involved technical and generic issue which the Meterology and Effluent Treatment Branch has already requested your contractor, Battelle Pacific Northwest Laboratory, to review.~ , ,

This matter has been discussed with NRR Project Manager, L. Oshan.
