Gentlemen:
This refers to the special safety inspection conducted during the period of
June 10 through August 15, 1985, of activities at the LaSalle County Nuclear
Power Station, Units 1 & 2, authorized by NRC Operating Licenses No. NPF-11
and NPF-18. The results of this inspection were discussed during an enforce-
ment conference conducted at the LaSalle site on June 24, 1985 and during a
subsequent discussion on July 30, 1985, between Mr. D. Farrar of your staff
and Mr. N. Chrissotimos of this office. We are releasing this report at this
time for your information. You will be notified by separate correspondence
of our decision regarding enforcement action based on the findings of this
inspection. No written response is required until you are notified of the
proposed enforcement action.
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.790(a) of the NRC's " Rules of Practice", Part 2,
Title 10, Code of Federal Regulations, a copy of this letter and the enclosure
will be placed in the NRC's Public Document Room.
We will gladly discuss any questions you have concerning this inspection.
