Dear Dr. Grace:

This letter is in response to your August 8, 1985 letter to Duke Power Company concern-ing our April 30, 1985 violation responses for the subject inspection report. Based on an August 15, 1985 telephone conversation between Mr. P. Madden, NRC/0IE, and Mr.

Due to the time required to perform the analysis,' Duke Power requires an extended response time. An additional response to Violation IV will be submitted to the NRC by September 27, 1985.
