We are preparing a staff paper laying out options for the Conmission to consider regarding the appryo riate NRC zole in the National Level Emergency Preparedness Program. In the meantine two staff members, one from the r
Office of International & State Programs and the other Ezon Inspection &
Enforcement, have attended the initial ?PA/GSA briefing for REX 76.
Their joint reconenendation is that because of out limited resources, we should not participate directly in the esercise but that we "obeerve" it for training purposes.
It is any recornnendation that we tell TPA that pending the establishment of NRC's role in the National Level Emergency Preparedness Program, we prefer to participate only as "obearvers" in REX 76 and tell them De mag possibly wish to sequest a more active participation depending upon the g
