SEQUOYAH EMERGENCY PLAN REVIEW, DOCKET NOS. 50-327 AND 50-328 We have completed the review of Revision 19 of the Sequoyah Radiological Emergency Plan dated May 23, 1985.
Our review indicated that your Sequoyah Radiological Emergency Plan continues to meet the planning standards of 10 CFR 50.47(b) and the requirements of Appendix E to 10 CFR 50. With respect to the proposed change to the annual training of the news media, we expect that you will hold such training on an annual basis to the extent practical. Any variation from the annual commitment should be infrequent and due only to unusual circumstances or those circumstances outside your immediate control.
Please be reminded that 10 CFR 50.54(q) requires NRC approval of any changes to your Plan which may decrease the effectiveness of the Plan.
However, if your safety review indicates no decrease in emergency preparedness, then changes can be made without NRC approval.
In all cases, you should furnish copies of each proposed change to the NRC in accordance with 10 CFR 50.54(q). A.lso, any changes to the Emergency Plan Implementing Procedures should be made in accordance with the requirements of 10 CFR 50, Appendix E, Section V.
