RANCHO SECO NUCLEAR GENERATING STATION - GENERIC LETTER 83-28 ITEMS 3.1.1 and 3.1.2 POST-MAINTENANCE TESTING 0F REACTOR TRIP SYSTEM COMP 0NENTS We have completed our review of the information you provided on Post-Maintenance testing of reactor trip system components, Items 3.1.1 and 3.1.2 of G. L. 83-28. From our review we have concluded that:

(a) based on your confirmation that post-maintenance operability testing is required to be performed on safety-related equipment and that such testing ensures the equipment is capable of performing its safety function prior to return to service you have acceptably satisfied the actions requested by Item 3.1.1 of Generic Letter 83-28 and (b) based on your completion of a review of the Owners' Group and generic guidance on post-maintenance operability testing, and your determination that facility procedures include the guidance necessary to demonstrate post-maintenance operability of the reactor trip system, you have acceptably satisfied the actions requested by Item 3.1.2 of Generic Letter 83-28.
