MCGUIRE NUCLEAR STATION, UNITS 1 AND 2 - WITHDRAWAL 0F AN AMENDMENT REQUEST (TAC NOS. M94278 AND M94279)
Dear Mr. McMeekin:
By letter dated December 14, 1995, you applied for an amendment to the McGuire J
Nuclear Station, Units 1 and 2-Facility Operating License Nos. NPF-9 and NPF-17, respectively.
The proposed change would have modified the facility Technical Specifications to improve the TS action statements and surveillance i
requirements pertaining to diesel generators.
Subsequently, by letter dated i
May 16, 1996, you withdrew the proposed change to the full-load rejection Surveillance Requirement 4.8.1.1.2.e.3.
Also, by letter dated August 29, 1996, you withdrew the proposed changes in (1) Surveillance Requirements 4.8.1.1.2.c and 4.8.1.1.2.d regarding using at least one air tank with no compressors for starting the diesel and lowering the maximum tank pressure from 220 psig to 210 psig, and (2) TS Section 6.8.4.h regarding the diesel i
fuel oil surveillance testing.
The Commission has filed the enclosed Notice of Partial Withdrawal of Application for Amendment to Facility Operating License with the Office of the Federal Register for publication.
