On May 16, 1973 Mr. J. S. Corbett, Chief Radiation Protection Of ficer, was interviewed by telephone in an attempt to schedule an inspection of the subject license. Corbett stated that the licensee has changed the corporate name to Chem-Nuclear Systems Inc., with headquarters in Bellevue, Washington and has requested a license amendment reflecting this change. The licensee stated that Amendment No. 4 dated February 22, 1973 has been issued. He also stated that all records of activities under the subject license are retained at the l'censee's Barnwell, South Carolina office although license applications and correspondence relating to the Barnwell site originated
at the Bellevue office.
On the basis of Mr. Corbett's statements it appears that this license is not inspectable at the Bellevue location and an assist inspection by RO:1I should be requested.
At the time of an assist inspection it vould ap;: car appropriate for RO:Il to inquire specifically into licensee management control of the Barnwell site with p. articular attention directed to the radiation safety program and controls. Mr. Corbett identified Mr. Tom McCord as the responsible RSO representative at the Barnwell site. -
