The following report highlights the operating experience of Wolf Creek Generating Station for the month of September, 1985. This report is being provided pursuant to Technical Specification 6.9.1.8.
I.
SUMMARY
OF OPERATING EXPERIENCE On Septenber 3, 1985, Wolf Creek Generating Station was declared available for comnercial operation. Since that time, two unplannea unit trips have occurred due to equipnent malfunctions. We first Turbine / Reactor trip occurred due to Electro-Hydroalic Control system problems, and the second occurred due to a failed controller card for a Main Feedwater Control Valve.
On September 27, 1985, an auto Turbine Runback fran 100 percent power occurred due to a stator water temperature control valve malfunction.
The unit was stabilized at approximately 20 percent power, and later returned to full power operation.
II.
MAJOR SAFETY RELATED MAINTENANCE ACTIVITIES he major safety related maintenance performed during the month of September was the rebuild aM reinstallation of the relief valve for the positive displacement pump. The application of a freeze seal in the line the valve is nounted on was regaired to accomplish this work.
III. CHANGES, TESTS, AND EXPERIMENPS Tne following is a brief description of safety evaluations performed 4
pursuant to 10 CFR 50.59 on changes, tests, and experiments during the month of September, 1.
Temporary Modification 85-SE Installation of a jumper across a contact point on relay lXEF33 to allow the circuit to perform its design function by starting Essential Service Water pump "A".
The relay is an interpasing relay which permits the circuit breaker to close on a IoM Sequence or Auxiliary Feadwater Loss of Suction Pressure signal. No unreviewed safety or environmental questions are generated as a result of this temporary chance.
2.
Temporary Modification 85-SE Originated to return the Auxiliary Feedwater Pump discharge control valve, AIeHV-9, to service with damage to the terminal block on the circuit board.
The damage consists of a broken flash guard between two terminals, one of which is not used, aM a hairline crack across one terminal point, but there is no potential for arcing. No unreviewed safety or environmental questions are generated as a result of this temporary change.
3.
Temporary Modification 85-SE Originated to fabricate a hot tool roan in the Auxiliary Building at elevation 1974'. The rocm panels present no seismic concerns and no essential equipment is endangered by the panels. No unreviewed safety or environmental gaestions are generated as a result of this temporary change.

i 4.
Temporary Modification 85-SE Originated to allow trained personnel other than the Shift Supervisor, or his designee, to implement the Ignition Source Permit systen. No unreviewed safety or environmental questions are generated as a result of this temporary change.
5.
Temporary Modification 85-SE Installation of temporary clamp i
aM a3dition of sealing canpouM to the hand hole flanges of AE-FE-510 and 520, Main Feedwater systen flow venturies. No unreviewed safety or environmental questions are generated as a result of this temporary change.
6.
Temporary Modification 85-SE Originated to establish a temporary flowpath fran the recycle evaporator concentrates discharge to the spent fuel pool to allow boration evolutions of the spent fuel pool while the transfer canal is dry and isolated fran the spent fuel pool by the spent fuel pool gate. The flow path was established so as to minimize any potential siphoning effects aM is to be remareed prior to placement of any fuel within the spent fuel pool. No unreviewed safety or environmental questions are generated as a result of this temporary change.
