GRAND GULF OPERATIONAL QUALITY ASSURANCE PROGRAM Your letters to this office dated June 29, 1984, (AECM-84/0332) and October 12, 1984, (AECM-84/0489) provided changes to Revision 3 of the operational quality assurance program (MPL-TOP-1A) for the Grand Gulf station (Docket No. 50-416).
Additional clarification was provided during a telephone conversation conducted between Mr. G. Belisle of my staff and Mr. W. Edge and Ms. L. Burgess of your staff on October 3, 1984.
This clarification was provided in response to questions transmitted by my letter dated August 23, 1984. As agreed during that conversation, NRC concerns would be incorporated into MPL-TOP-1A at a later date.
In order to achieve full implementation of requested MPL-TOP-1A changes, a Technical Specification amendment was requested from the Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation on January 30,1985, ( AECM-85/0033). This amendment was approved by the Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation on April 1, 1985.
MPL-TOP-1A status was discussed between Mr.
G.
Belisle of my staff and Ms. L. Burgess of your staff on May 9,1985.
Your letter to this office dated May 14,1985, ( AECM-85/0100) transmitted Revision 4 of MPL-TOP-1A. Additional clarification was provided during a telephone conversation conducted between Mr. G. Belisle of my staff and Mr. S. Feith, Mr. W. Edge, and Ms. L. Burgess of your staff on July 8,1985.
Our review of this information indicates that the Grand Gulf operational quality assurance program continues to satisfy 10 CFR 50

Appendix B requirements and is therefore acceptable.
