Dear Mr. Chairman:
Enclosed for the information of the subcomittee is a copy of a final rule to be published in the Federal Reaister that contains amendments to 10 CFR Part 51, " Environmental Protection Regulations for Domestic Licensing and 2
Related Regulatory Functions." This final rule makes minor clarifying and conforming changes and adds language inadvertently omitted from Table B-1 of the rulemaking published June 5, 1996 (61 FR 28476), which established new requirements for the environmental review of applications to renew the i
operating licenses of nuclear power plants. This final rule also presents an analysis of the coments received and the Nuclear Regulatory Comission (NRC) staff responses to the coments requested in the final rule published June 5, 1996. After reviewing the coments received, the NRC has determined that no substantive changes to the final rule are warranted.
