Press inquiries should be referred to OPA, who is using the enclosure. Inquiries from the Congress should be referred to OCA, and OCA should use the enclosure in responding to such inquiries.

PROPOSED RESPONSE TO PRESS INQUIRIES The Nuclear Regulatory Commission has been advised by the Department of Justice that a Grand Jury investigation has been
' convened in the District of Columbia looking into alleged ,
wrongdoing of.certain NRC employees relating to.their actions within the regulatory process. The Department of Justice has not provided us any information indicating the existence of a safety problem at any installation. ,
Chairman Palladino, with the support of all Commissioners, has ,
pledged to the Department of Justice the Agency's' full and complete cooperation.
