Cn July 8,1983, the Nuclear Regulatory Cermission (NRC) issued Generic Letter 83-28. This letter described intermediate term actions to be taken by licensees as a result of the Salcr enticipated transient without scram events. For Items 1.1.3 and 3.2.3 of the Generic Letter, the licensees-were to identify any post-maintenarce test requirements in existing technical specifications for either the reactor trip system or other i
safety-related components which can be demonstrated to degrade rather than enhance safety.
By letter dated November 8, 1983, the Connecticut Yankee Atomic Power Company responded to Itcms 3.1.3 and 3.2.3 of Generic Letter 83-28. Based upon our revier, we conclude that the licensee's responses to Items 3.1.3 and 3.2.3 are acceptable. A copy of our safety evaluatien is cnclosed, j
