Dear Sir:

We previously reported in Reference (f) a potential 10CFR50.55(e) item to Region I regarding the seismic qualification of the Control Rod Drive Mechanism (CRDM) shroud.

Per Reference (g), Westinghouse has performed detailed analyses which have demonstrated the shroud's adequacy for its intended use as an intervening structural supporting element for the Class I Reactor Vessel Instrumentation 8508090639 850725 PDR ADOCK 05000443  !

United States Nuclear Regulatory Commission Attention: Mr. Richard W. Starostecki Page 2 System piping and Class I Reactor Vessel Head Vent piping. Therefore, based on the results of Westinghouse's investigation, we have determined that this item is not a reportable deficiency in accordance with 10CFR50.55(e) criteria.
