Dear Mr. Helsh:
l On June 19, 1985, Plant Hatch was granted permiccion by EPD l
to dispose of approximately 6000 gallons of less than 10% glycol solution (non-radioactive) by discharging it to the Altamaha River.
The following is a summary of the diccharge of that solution.
On June 20, 1985, the glycol solution was pumped from a chemical waste sump in the gas treatment building into a tank l
truck and moved to the plant's discharge structure and l
discharged at a flow rate of about 120 gpm into the plant's final discharge where it was mixed with approximately 15,000 gpm normal plant discharge flow.
The mixing in the discharge structure reduced the concentration by a factor of about 1/125.
The resultant concentration of glycol solution entering the
- river was less than 0.083%
l If you have any questions or comments please advice.
l Yours very truly, W. R. Uoccall, Jr.
