Dear Mr. Helsh:

l On June 19, 1985, Plant Hatch was granted permiccion by EPD l to dispose of approximately 6000 gallons of less than 10% glycol

! solution (non-radioactive) by discharging it to the Altamaha

, River. The following is a summary of the diccharge of that solution.

! On June 20, 1985, the glycol solution was pumped from a chemical waste sump in the gas treatment building into a tank l truck and moved to the plant's discharge structure and l discharged at a flow rate of about 120 gpm into the plant's final discharge where it was mixed with approximately 15,000 gpm normal plant discharge flow. The mixing in the discharge

! structure reduced the concentration by a factor of about 1/125.

The resultant concentration of glycol solution entering the

- river was less than 0.083%

l If you have any questions or comments please advice.

l Yours very truly,

! W. R. Uoccall, Jr.
