Gentlemen:
This refers to the unannounced routine safety inspection conducted by
Mr. R. Smeenge of this office on September 12 and September 16-19, 1985, of
activities at Braidwood Station. Units 1 and 2, authorized by NRC Construction
Permits No. CPPR-132 and No. CPPR-133, and to the discussion of our findings
with Mr. C. W. Schroeder and others of your staff at the conclusion of the
inspection on September 19, 1985.

The enclosed copy of our inspection report identifies areas examined during the
inspection. Within these areas, the inspection consisted of a selective
examination of procedures and representative records, observations, and
interviews with personnel.
No violations of NRC requirements were identified during this inspection.
- In accordance with 10 CFR 2.790 of the Coninission's regulations, a copy of
this letter and the enclosure will be placed in the NRC Public Document Room.
We will glady discuss any questions you have concerning this inspection.
