Foa asTsuston OF TZum To assPoup To LES' AND NBC ET&FF'8 PETITIONS FOR REYZEW Citizens Against Nuclear Trash (" CANT") hereby moves for a brief extension of time until January 10 to respond to the fol-lowing petitions for review of LBP-96-25 (December 3, 1996):
Louisiana Energy Services ("LES") 10 C.F.R. 5 2.786(b) (1) Peti-tion for Review of LBP-96-25 (December 19, 1996) and NRC Staff's Petition for Review of LBP-96-25 (December 23, 1996).
Counsel for LES and the NRC staff have stated that they do not oppose the i
motion.
The extension is necessary because the time for responding to the petitions for review has fallen squarely vithin the Christmas holidays, when both counsel for CANT were out of town with their faniliss.
Thus, counse1 have had insufficient time to prepare a response to LES' petition for review by today, January or to the NRC staff's petition for review by Tuesday, January l
3, 7.1 l
CANT notes that it did not receive LES' petition for review 1
Before leaving the office for until the week of December 23.
the holidays, counsel for CANT called counsel for LES and left a message requesting an extension, but was unable to i
counsel until January 2.
The NRC speak directly with LES' staff's petition for review arrived after CANT's counsel left the office for the Christmas holidays.

Accordingly, CANT respectfully requests the Commission to grant a brief extension until January 10.
