DIESEL GENERATOR TESTING The staff is conducting its review of your request for a change in the technical specifications governing diesel generator testing (Proposed.
Amendment No. 128). Our review indicates your submittal has provided no technical explanation of the nature of the proposed change, the reasons for needing or requesting the change nor any safety analysis of the proposed change. Please submit the additional information listed in the enclosure.
It is requested that you provide this information within 45 days of receipt of this letter.
The reporting and/or recording keeping requirements contained in this letter affect fewer than ten respondents, therefore OMB clearance is not required under P.L.96-511.

Please describe the technical basis or need for requesting this change in the method used to test the diesel generators.

Please provide a safety evaluation addressing this proposed change which demonstrates this change will not: (1) increase the probability of occurrence or consequences of an accident or malfunction previously considered in the FSAR, (2) create the possibility for an accident or malfunction not previously considered, _or (3) reduce the margin of safety as defined in the basis for any technical specification.
