RII:MDH NRC/01E Inspection Report 50-369/84-28 and 50-370/84-25 I

Dear Dr. Grace:

This letter is in response to your August 8, 1985 letter to Duke Power Company concerning our April 30, 1985 violation responses for the subject. ins.pection report. Based on an August 15, 1985 telephone conversation between Mr. P. Madden, NRC/01E, and Mr.~H. D. Brandes, Duke Power, an agreement was made that Duke Power would perform an indepth technical analysis to further support Violation IV of the subject inspection report for further consideration in resolving the violation. By a letter dated August 20, 1985, Duke Power requested an extended response time of September 27, 1985. Due to the lack of sufficient detail in the technical analysis, Duke Power requires an additio.al extension. An additional response to Violation IV will be submitted to the NRC by October 28, 1985.

.Very truly yours, f!$ Y ff Hal B. Tucker WHM/hrp cc:
