TRANSAMERICA DELAVAL (TDI) EllERGENCY DIESEL GENERATORS-RIVER BEhD Enclosed please find an advance copy of a technical evaluation report (PNL-5485),

concerning the TDI diesel engines at River Bend Staticn. The report was pre-pared for the NRC staff by its contractor, the Battelle-Pacific florthwest Laboratory. The NRC staff is in the process of preparing its safety evaluation of the adequacy of the TDI diesel generators at River Bend, and the technical evaluation report will be a significant part of the safety evaluation. We therefore request that you provide us with your corrents concerning the report so that they may be incorporated into the safety evaluation. Because of the tight schedule for resolving this issue, we request your coments as soon as possible.
