Gentlemen:

SUBJECT:

REPORT NOS. 50-327/85-17 AND 50-328/85-17

Thank you for your response of August 28, 1985, to our Notice of Violation issued

on July 30, 1985, concerning activities conducted at your Sequoyah facility. We

have evaluated your response and found that it meets the requirements of 10 CFR 2.201.

We will examine the implementation of your corrective actions during

future inspections.

With respect to -Violation 50-327/85-17-02, your response is contradictory and

partially incorrect.

In parts 1 and 3 of your response, you admit the violation

and state that you retrained the individual on the procedures to be followed.

However, part 2 states that his actions were not in violation of practices taught

during previous training.

This is not correct. The NRC inspector observed that

the individual continued to work for an extended period without proper protective

clothing and did not expeditiously stop work and leave the area.

Since your

corrective action addresses the issue, no further response is required.

We appreciate your cooperation in this matter.

Sincerely,

Original Signed by
