This letter constitutes Transnuclear Inc.'s advance notification to the USNRC in compliance with the requirements as outlined in 10 CFR 73.74(a)(1)(2) for an import shipment of natural uranium from Countries that are not party to the Convention on the Physical Protection of Nuclear Material.

40 Type A model DHTF drums containing: RQ " Radioactive Material, Fissile, N.O.S. 7, UN2918 (U238, U235) enriched Uranium in the form of Uranium Dioxide UO2 pellets enrichment less than 5% U235.
j Aprroximate weight of UO2: 3847.237 kg U: 3390.743 U235: 148.433 The above shipment is scheduled to leave CDG airport, France on 12-4-% via Federal Express ETA Memphis, TN 12-4-%.

Approximate weight of UO2: 3986.988 kg, U: 3514.002 kg, U235: 151.602 kg.
I The above shipment is scheduled to leave CDG airport, France on 12-5-% via Federal Express ETA Memphis, TN International Airport 12-5-96.
Following Customs clearance, delivery to Framatome Cogema Fuel, Lynchburgh, VA, is estimated between 0700 hrs and 1800 hrs on December 10, 1996.
