REQUEST FOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ON ITEM 1.1.,

GENERIC LETTER 83-28 The staff and its consultant, Science Applications International Corporation, have completed the review of your submittal made in response to Item 1.1 of Generic letter 83-28, Post-Trip Review. The results of our review are con-tained in the enclosed draf t safety evaluation.

We find that we require additional information in the following areas:

1. The criteria for determining the acceptability of the restart.
2. The qualifications, responsibilities and authorities of the personnel responsible for performing the post-trip review.

3. The method and criteria for comparing the event with expected plant performance.
4. The criteria for determining the need for independent assessment of the event following a trip.
5. The minimum required information that must be included in the pro-cedures submitted.

These areas are discussed in greater detail in Section III of the draft safety evaluation.
