% e following report highlights the operating experience for Wolf Creek Generating Station for the month of March, 1985. Wis report is being provided pursuant to Technical Specification 6.9.1.8.

I. OPERATING EXPERIENCE On March 11, 1985, Facility Operatiry Licenso Nw-32 was issued for Wolf Crcek Generating station, notnoelzing fuel load an3 plant testing up to 5 percent of tull power.

.On March 12, 1985, the first fuel element entered the core and the plant entered Mode 6. Fuel loading was completed five days later.

On March 22, 1985, all reactor vessel head studs were tensioned and the plant entered Mcde 5. We reactor coolant system has been filled and vented and a pressurizer bubble has been drawn. Preparations have begun for cold rod drop testing.

Wree Control Rocm Ventilation Isolation Signals (CRVIS)/ Containment Purge Isolation Signals (CPIS) occured durirg the month of March due to spurious spikes and one CRVIS occured due to personnel error. Wese events are being reported pursuant to 10 CFR 50.72 and 10 CFR 50.73 as Licensee Event Reports under separate cover.

II. MAJOR SAFE 1Y-REUGED MAIMEENANCE ACTIVITIES

%e major safety-related maintenance performed since March 11, 1985, includes replacement of the mechanical seal on centrifugal charging punp 'A', installation of the upper internals, positioning of the reactor vessel head and tensioning the studs, and installation of the Control Rod Drive Mechanism ductwork, cables and electrical connections. In addition, several valves have required repair due to body-to-bonnet leaks, valve operator problems, and valves leaking through.

III. CHAIEES, 'IESTS AIO EXPERIMENTS We following is a brief description of changes, tests and experiments reported pursuant to 10 CFR 50.59(b) for the period of March 11, 1985 through March 31, 1985.

1. Plant Modification Request (IHR) #00450 - Replacement of screen in the contairnent spray suction recirculation sung enclosure. No unreviewed safety or environmental questions are generated as a result of this change.
