Dear Ms. Garde:
This is in response to your letter of March 25, 1985, in which you requested,
pursuant to the Freedom of Information Act (F0IA), records regarding NRC
Inspection Reports Nos. 50-413/84-89 and 50-414/84-40 on the Catawba nuclear
power plant.
Our technical staff has informed us that records pertaining to these reports
were subject to two earlier F0IA requests:
F01A-84-722, from Nina Bell, Nuc-
lear Information and Resource Service; and F0!A-84-902, from Stephen Kohn, GAP.
Copies of both requests are in the PDR under the names of the requesters. The
files for F01A-84-722 also include NRC's partial response letters and appen-
dices of October 16, 1984, May 6, 1985, and May 24, 1985. The files for
F01A-84-902 include NRC's partial response letters and appendices of March 29,
1985, and May 31, 1985.
A number of documents are still under review in both of these cases. When
this review has been completed, we will place the remaining documents subject
to F01A-84-722 and F01A-84-902 in the PDR or,as appropriate, provide them to
Mr. Kohn.
(Because GAP is representing the person involved in F01A-84-902,
certain information being withheld from the public in order to protect the
privacy of the alleger will only be released directly to Mr. Kohn).
