Dear Mr. Griffin:

As discussed with Dale James of your staff, two NRC personnel from the Technical Specification Improvement Project Group would like to visit your facility on May 23, 1985. The purpose of their visit is to talk directly to opera::ional, maintenance and compliance staff, including operators, to get their views on technical specifications. These views will hopefully include:

1.

Current impact of technical specifications on plant personnel resources (number of people, number of tests, etc.)

2.

Problem areas which could be corrected.

3.

Recomendations on what could be done to improve all or parts of the technical specifications.

The NRC personnel are Scott Newberry and Peter Williams. Their NRC personnel identification numbers are B-0508 and B-2379, respectively.

We wish to thank you for the cooperation your staff has provided in arranging this upcoming visit.

Sincerely, DrfWnal signed by:
