Attention:

Ms. E. G. Adensam, Chief Licensing Branch No. 4

Subject:

McGuire Nuclear Station Docket Nos. 50-369 and 50-370 Technical Specifications for the Containment Isolation System i

Dear Mr. Denton:

Attached are proposed license amendments to Facility Operating Licenses NPF-9 t

and NPF-17 for McGuire Nuclear Station Units 1 and 2, respectively. The proposed changes in the Technical Specifications are concerned with the Containment Isolation Systems (T.S. 3.6.3) and involve deleting valve NI-1223 from Table 3.6-2 of the Technical Specifications. This valve has been determined to not require a containment isolation signal. Associated with this proposed change of Technical Specifications is a station modification which would remove the containment isolation signal to valve NI-122B. This valve is normally closed during operation.

l I

Attachment I contains the proposed Technical Specification changes. Attachment II provides Justification and Safety Analysis in support of the proposed changes.

Attachment III provides a determination that the proposed changes do not involve l

any significant hazards consideration, as defined by 10CFR 50.92.

This request involves one application for amendment to McGuire's Technical Specifications. Accordingly, pursuant to 10CFR 170.21, a check for $150.00 is enclosed.

Picase contact us if you require any additional information.

Very truly yours, l

~~
