Dear Mr. Patterson:

i The Commission has issued the enclosed Amendment No.176 to Facility Operating License No. DPR-40 for the Fort Calhoun Station, Unit No.1. This amendment

{ consists of changes to the Technical Specifications (TS) in response to your j application dated May 17, 1996.

i The amendment revises Sections 2.18, 3.14, 3.3 and 5.10 of the technical i

specifications to relocate snubber operability requirements to the Updated l

-Safety Analysis Report (USAR) and incorporate snubber examination and testing requirements into TS Section 3.3 for American Society of Mechanical Engineers i

(ASME) Loller and Pressure Vessel Code Section XI components.  :

The Commission has issued the enclosed Amendment No.176 to Facility Operating License No. DPR-40 for the Fort Calhoun Station, Unit No. 1. This amendment consists of changes to the Technical Specifications (TS) in response to your application dated May 17, 1996.

i The amendment revises Sections 2.18, 3.14, 3.3 and 5.10 of the technical specifications to relocate snubber operability requirements to the Updated 1 Safety Analysis Report (USAR) and incorporate snubber examination and testing l requirements into TS Section 3.3 for American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code Section XI components.

The technical specification requirements relocated to licensee-controlled documents (USAR) shall be controlled by 10 CFR 50.59. The license amendment is effective and shall be implemented as of its date of issuance.

Implementation of the license amendment shall include relocation of technical specification requirements to the appropriate licensee-controlled document (USAR) as identified in the enclosed safety evaluation.
