ENC has demonstrated the process technology in a dmonstration unit. The current construction will double the sire of the demo unit. The uranium frm solution in the storage 1 agoon will he precipitated in a 1 arge tank l in the f acility. The supernate wil.1 he decanted to another I agoon for eventual '

disposal. The crystalline precipitate will be stored until purifieri in ENC's solvent extraction process.

The current ENC radiation protection program will be extended to the new process 1ina. The uranium in the waste solutions presents no unusual hazards <

or risks to workers or the public. {

Nuclear criticality safety will be ensured by safe batch control. ENC has

. established administrative controls and demonstrated an organizational capability l to use these controls for safe operation. While batch control is not the i preferred method of control, it is acceptable to the NRC staff.
