Gentlemen:
This refers to the special safety inspection conducted by Messrs. J. Holmes,
F. Maura and J. Ulie of this office on May 20-23, and June 11, 1985, of
activities at Fermi Unit 2 authorized by NRC License No. NPF-33 and to the
discussion of our findings with Mr. E. Griffing and other members of your
staff on May 23. and June 11, 1985.
The enclosed copy of our inspection report identifies areas examined during
the inspection. Within these areas, the inspection consisted of a selective
examination of procedures and representative records, observations, and
interviews with personnel.
Based on the information you have submitted and the results of our inspection
activities, we have assurance that your fire protection program has been
adequately implemented and continued maintenance of this program in accordance
,
with NRC requirements including completion of License Condition 2.C.9.(e) will
support satisfactory operation beyond five percent of full power.
No violations of NRC requirements were identified during the course of this
inspection.

In accordan'ce with 10 CFR 2.790 of the Consnission's regulations, a copy of
this letter and the enclosure (s) will be placed in the NRC Public Document
Room.
