EDITORIAL CHANGE TO CORRECT A TYPOGRAPHICAL ERROR IN TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION 4.5.0.2 The proposed change will replace text that was inadvertently deleted from Technical Specification 4.5.D.2.

This specification presents the surveillance requirements for operation with an inoperable HPCI system.

The first sentence of this specification should read that "When the HPCI system is inoperable, the ADS actuation logic, the RCIC system, the RHR system LPCI mode, and the CS system shall be demonstrated to be operable immediately."

The words "... shall be demonstrated to be operable..." were inadvertently omitted from Technical Specification 4.5.D.2 during the retyping of the Technical Specifications for the GPC submittal (dated April 22, 1983) which resulted in Amendment 101.

Amendment 101 addressed RCIC operation changes resulting from TMI modifications and did not affect Technical Specification l

4.5.D.2.

This correction to Technical Specification 4.5.D.2 is purely l

editorial and does not impact plant safety.

Georgia Power A ATTACfNENT 2 NRC DOCKET 50-321 OPERATING LICENSE DPR-57 EDWIN I. HATCH NUCLEAR PLANT UNIT 1 REQUEST TO REVISE TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS:

EDITORIAL CHANGE TO CORRECT A TYPOGRAPHICAL ERROR IN TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION 4.5.D.2 Pursuant to 10 CFR 50.59, the Plant Review Board and Safety Review Board have reviewed the attached proposed amendment to the Plant Hatch Unit 1 Technical Specifications and have determined that implementation of the proposed amendment does not constitute an unreviewed safety question.

The proposed amendment does not increase the consequences or the probability of an accident or equipment malfunction important to safety previously evaluated in the FSAR.

The change is purely editorial and has no effect on plant operation.

The proposed change does not create a possibility for an accident or equipment malfunction of a different type than any evaluated previously in the FSAR since no new modes of plant operation are involved.

The margin of safety, as defined in the Technical Specification, is not affected by this editorial change.

Georgia Power A ATTACHMENT 3 NRC DOCKET 50-321 OPERATING LICENSE DPR-57 EDWIN I. HATCH NUCLEAR PLANT UNIT 1 REQUEST TO REVISE TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS:

EDITORIAL CHANGE TO CORRECT A TYPOGRAPHICAL ERROR IN TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION 4.5.D.2 Pursuant to 10 CFR 50.92, Georgia Power Company has evaluated the attached proposed amendment for Plant Hatch Unit 1 and has determined that its adoption would not involve a significant hazard.

The basis for this determination is as follows:

This change is consistent with Item (i) of the " Examples of Amendments that are Considered Not Likely to Involve Significant Hazards Considerations" listed on page 14,870 of the Federal Register, April 6,.

~1983.

Item (1) defines an administrative change to correct an error in the Technical Specifications, as a change involving no significant hazards considerations.

The proposed change corrects an editorial error in the Technical Specifications, and thus clearly falls under Item (1).
