Dear Mr. Bauer:

SUBJECT:

" REC 0MBINER CAPABILITY REQUIREMENTS OF 10 CFR 50.44(c)(3)ii" Generic Letter 84-09 By Generic Letter 84-09 ("Recombiner Capability Requirements of 10 CFR 50.44(c)(3)11".- May 8, 1984), all licensees were provided with certain technical criteriti, which if satisfied, could result in the conclusion that a recombiner capability is not required for a specific facility. .

Philadelphia Electric Company-(the licensee) responded to the referenced Generic Letter by letters dated July 31, 1984, and May 1, 1985, which provided documentation to demonstrate that these criteria were satisfied by the Peach Bottom Atomic Power Station, Units 2 and 3. I 1

Based upon our review of these submittals, we conclude that the licensee's proposed bases for not providing a re. combiner capability for the Peach Bottom facility are acceptable and, therefore, we conclude that no further action concerning Generic Letter 84-09 ("Recombiner Capability Requirements of 10 CFR 50.44(c)(3)ii") is required.

If you have any qu.estions concerning this action, please contact your NRC Project Manager (G. Gears 301-492-8362).

Sincerely, N..w ;&iGaa K 30e3 2. Byaw/ ..
