Interim 10CFR50.55(e) Repart, HVAC Design

Dear Sir:

On April 9,1985, we reported a potential 10CFR50.55(e) item to Region I [ Reference (b)] regarding the HVAC design.' The following in-formation is being filed pursuant to the interim reporting provision of 10CFR50.55(e)(3). The reportability of the item remains under-evaluation.

Description of Deficiency 1.

During the Equipment Environmental Qualifications Review Program (EQRP), the potential need for design changes in the HVAC System was. identified in order to maintain equip-ment qualification.

The original HVAC design was performed many years ago. or were established. The potential need to modify the HVAC System was discovered during a normal reverification of EQRP input parameters. The item is considered potentially reportable due to the significant analysis' involved.

Analysis of Safety Implications Detailed design calculations are being performed for all HVAC systems to determine the extent of any potential modifications.
