Dear Sir:
On October 26, 1984, we reported a potential 10CFR50.55(e) item to Region 1 [ Reference (b)]. This item was initially identified during the
. Construction Appraisal Team Inspection and was subsequently addressed in our response [ Reference (c)] to said inspection. An interim report was filed-[ Reference (d)] on December 28, 1984 and again [ Reference (e)] on L
April 3, 1985.
We are submitting this report to appraise you of the status on the evaluation of this item. There are a total of 829 connections requiring review, of which 816 have been completed. Of the 816 evaluated, 624 are acceptable. The remaining 192 require further evaluation, since the initial screening criteria conservatively assumes no weld in the coped area.of the connection. Of the 192 connections requiring further evaluation 57 have been inspected. Forty-three (43) of these were found to be acceptable based on the as-built weld condition.
