Core Spray System Inspection at Vermont Yankee In Reference (b) Vermont Yankee provided the NRC with its plans for performing Core Spray System inspections during our 1996 refueling outage. During several telephone conversations with your staff between September 30 and October 8,1996, we discussed the results of our inspections, answered your staff's questions and agreed to submit the inspection results and evaluations for NRC review. The purpose of this letter is to provide the requested information.
In summary, a total of 44 welds were inspected. As demonstrated in the attached engineering report, the Core Spray system integrity and performance are not compromised by these results.
