Dear Sir:
The NRC was notified of a potentially reportable deficiency in the ref-erenced telephone conversation. At that time, it waa estimated that a determination of reportability would be made within thirty (30) days.
Due to the extensive inver.tigation and evaluation required, an Interim Report is attached.
It is now expected that this information will be finalized by July 26, 1985, at which time a complete report will be submitted.

Potential Problem
- 1. ' The N.O./N.C. color coded visual indicators on Westinghouse industrial control relays, type ARD used in the Aux relay cabinets, are breaking off the relays and falling into the
-relays and preventing travel _(i.e. cabinet 2E-ZAB-C01 relay E6/SSY1, terminals #1 and #3).

Also, upon preliminary inspection of the relays in the Aux relay cabinets, items such as wire markers, wire in-
.sulation, metal pieces, paper, etc., were found inside the relays (i.e. 3E-ZJB-C01 relay D1/S1X5, contact 9-10 a piece of metal,was found inside relay housing)..
EER number 85-XI-001 is written for Unit one.
Note: The auxiliary relay cabinets were' supplied by.Harlo Corporation on 10407-13-EM-002' II.
Approach To and Status Of P'roposed Rebolution Bechtel Engineering has dispositioned NCR SE5774 to implement
-the corrective action,.to: inspect and remove debris, and is currently preparing the final report.
III. Projected Completion of' Corrective Action and Submittal of the Final Report i
The complete evaluation and final report are forecast to be completed by July 26, 1985.
