REPORT NO. 50-416/83-45
This refers to the special safety inspection conducted by this office over a
period of months, beginning with an onsite inspection during August 15-19, 1983,
=
of activities authorized by NRC Operating License No. NPF-13 for the Grand Gulf
facility. Since that time, Region II participated in numerous meetings with MP&L
on the topics of this report.
Areas examined during the inspection are identified in the report. Within these
areas, the inspection consisted of selective examinations of procedures and
representative records, interviews with personnel, and observation of activities
in progress.
The enforcement action related to in this insr:ocion was tranr.itted to
Mississippi Power and Light Company by seperate letter of June 3,1985, from
Mr. James M. Taylor, Director, Office of Inspection and Enforcement.
We have examined actions you have taken with regard to previously reported
unresolved items.
The status of these items is discussed in the enclosed report.
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.790(a), a copy of this letter and enclosure will be
placed in the NRC Public Document Room unless you notify this office by telephone
within 10 days of the date of this letter and submit written application to
withhold information contained therein within 30 days of the date of this letter.
Such application must be consistent with the requirements of 2.790(b)(1).
