) 50-3%3?lCE OF SECRt.ibi (Limerick Generating Station, ) 00CMETING & SERViu.

Units 1 and 2) ) BRANCH APPLICANT'S MOTION FOR AN ENLARGEMENT OF THE PAGE LIMIT FOR ITS RESPONSIVE BRIEF Pursuant to 10 C.F.R. S2.762 (c) , Applicant Philadelphia Electric Company (" Applicant") is required to file a single brief in response to the separate appeals by Limerick Scology Action (" LEA") and Friends of the Earth (" FOE") from the Third Partial Initial Decision on Offsite Emergency Planning, dated May 2, 1985. In accordance with 10 C.F.R.

S2.762(e), Applicant hereby moves for a 20-page enlargement in the number of pages permitted for its responsive brief.

The enlargement is required because of the number of factual and legal issues raised by LEA in its 70-page brief.

While FOE's brief is shorter, it also raises several issues which require a reply. Applicant has sufficiently pro-gressed in its response that it can state that an enlarge-ment to 90 pages is necessary and will be sufficient to permit adequate treatment of the two appeals. Applicant notes that the requested enlargement to 90 pages approxi-mates the total length of LEA's and FOE's briefs if spacing 8507250302 850722 PDR ADOCK 05000352 O PDR Dso3

i and margin requirements had been observed. Of course, every effort will be made to keep Applicant's brief as concise as possible.

For the foregoing reasons, Applicant's motion for a 20-page enlargement should be granted.

Respectfully subIitted, CONNER & WETTERHAHN, P.C.
